How to Reach Nairobi

By Air:

Flying is the most convenient way to reach Nairobi. Nairobi is a major African hub and is well connected by air with all major destinations in Europe and Africa. From Europe, direct flights operate to Nairobi from London, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Madrid, Moscow, Athens, Rome and Zurich. For visitors coming from the United States and Canada, connecting flights are available from Europe. You can also fly to Mombasa in a charter plane and then take a direct train or bus to reach Nairobi, which is a less expensive option.

By Water: Short-distance ships operate between Mombasa and neighboring Mauritius, the Seychelles and Zanzibar.

High-speed ferry services connect Kisumu in Kenya to Mwanza and Bukoba in Tanzania. Mombasa and Kisumu are well connected to Nairobi by regular train and bus services. There are also direct flights to Nairobi from Mombasa.

By Land: Nairobi has good road links with various destinations in neighboring Tanzania, Uganda and Somalia. There are frequent direct bus services to Nairobi from Tanzania, Uganda and Somalia.
