Location
Set amidst the sprawling mountain ranges of Aberdare Mountain
Range, the park can be accessed through the tarmac from Nyeri
and Naro Moru on the eastern side.
Climate
It is mostly wet and moist. It is advisable to wear clothing
appropriate for camping and hiking.
Wild Life Attractions
Home to a wide variety of wildlife, one can see some very
exotic and rare animals in the Aberdare National Park.
High atop the moorlands, one can see Elands, a species of African antelope. One can also spot the Bush Duiker
and Black - fronted Duiker as well as the Black Rhino.
The
rainforests are inhabited by the red Duiker, Suni, Bushbucks,
Elephants, Buffaloes, Giant Forest Hogs, leopards
and Colobus monkeys.
The Aberdare National Park also boasts of a rich bird life
which includes the different species of the sunbirds like
the Tacazze sunbird, the Golden-winged sunbird, the emerald
green Malachite Sunbird and the tiny double collared Sunbird.

One can go hiking and camping in the hilly landscapes. Other
options include night game viewing, trout fishing in ice -
cold rivers and going on nature tails.
