The Kora National Park, bounded by the Tana River is spread
over 1700 sq km. The landscape is filled with vegetation of
dense woodland and scrub interspersed with isolated rocky
outcrops, known as Inselberts. The park has several seasonal
rivers also.
Location
Located 280 km from Nairobi, ther Kora National Park can be
accessed via Thika to Mwingi then north-east through Kyuso
village. There are also two airstrips nearby.
Climate
It is generally hot and dry, hence loose cotton clothing is
advised.
Wild Life Attractions
The Kora National Park is host to 500 species of insect, 33
mollusks and 40 reptiles along with elephants, Lesser Kudus,
wild dogs, striped and spotted hyenas, leopards and cheetahs
There are also around 21 species of fish.
