Location
Located on the borders of Serengeti National Park in south-western Kenya, the Masai Mara National Reserve is easily accessible by road or through the four airstrips.
Climate
Since the reserve is located at an altitude of 1500m, the weather is milder and damper compared to other regions It is gentle and rarely too hot.
Wild Life Attractions
The Masai Mara National Reserve is home to the Big Five- African Lions, Leopards,
African Elephants, African Rhinos & Cape Buffaloes. A major crowd puller is the annual migration of the wildebeests, zebras and gazelles from the plains. Other wildlife species include Roan antelope, white-bearded Gnu, Oribi, Warthog, Thomson's and Grant's gazelle, hartebeest and the big cats.
It has a prolific bird life too with over 450 species found within the reserve like the Orange buff Pel's fishing owl, red winged Schalow's turaco, Guinea fowl and the Ross turaco among others.
Things to do
Game viewing and bird watching are the obvious options. The reserve also has provision for balloon rides.
